It is sad that the music industry has hit an all time low. People are crying on a daily basis about why no one buys CD’s, and while MP3’s can be considered a major factor, the industry is to blame for not taking the advice of those who actually listen to and buy the music. Some might say that it motivated the fans to go elsewhere for their music. If the recording industry was able to hold regular meetings or put together surveys aimed directly at the consumer, they would know that people out there still love good, quality music. If the industry continues to force feed medicore music to the public, they will in time reject it. The industry will say “it does not matter, because in the time it takes to reject it, we will be making a significant amount of money. There’s more to music than just the money making aspect, and while money is what makes a business work, you also have to put faith in good music. It doesn’t matter what genre it is, the industry has to put integrity back into music. If the mainstream music industry no longer cares for integrity, then it is time for independent artists, music, and labels to gain the attention it fully deserves.
